Artist: Catherine Rogers Year: 2020 Medium: Embossed print Size: 30cm x 30cm with border (actual print is 24cm x 24cm) unframed Edition: 10 About this print: I’ve travelled by Pitt Water - Orielton Lagoon in Tasmania many times and taken for granted its international significance for migratory shorebirds and rare species. One summer’s day, I was struck by the sight of shorebirds flying over the steel grey waters. It was overcast and a storm was about to hit. There was a sense of tranquility and majesty of them caught in flight; their forms against the darkening sky and the choppy waters below. This print (editions 1 & 2) were gifted to the Overwintering Project, a national touring exhibition to raise awareness of migratory shorebirds in Australia.
